Nico the 56lb, black and white dog is the definition of a "good boy". Nico is friendly, playful, and loves everyone he meets! Nico previously lived with two children with whom he got along swimmingly. According to his previous family, Nico is good with other dogs and kids. Nico recently tested heartworm positive. This means he will need a home willing to support him as he works his way back to full health! Nico has a set plan in place from our vet staff to get him in tip-top shape as soon as possible. Nico's treatment is paid for, now he just needs a caring and patient family to give him a ride to his appointments and make sure he follows the vet's orders. Here at the shelter, Nico has been playful with other dogs but comes on strong. He may do well with another dog willing to accept his high-energy personality. If you have another canine family member, we strongly recommend a dog-to-dog introduction with Nico at the shelter, to make sure he is a good fit for your pack.
